READERS’ THEATER 

The Northport Reader's Theater will be meeting on May 19 at 7:30 at St Paul's United Methodist Church, 270 Main St, Northport. We will be reading two one-act plays by David Zinman.  

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Doug Macleod who passed away on April 12. He was an amazing person and a talented playwright. We will miss him.

POETS IN PORT

Poets in Port will feature Thomas Brinson at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 30, 2008, at Caffé Portofino, 249 Main St., Northport, opposite the theatre. Double Bill Americana Music: Ken Burns' Films Pianist Jacqueline Schwab Plus The Tobacco Roadies at Last Licks Cafe on May 31

The Last Licks Café presents a double bill featuring Jacqueline Schwab, pianist on the Ken Burn's TV documentaries, and the band Tobacco Roadies, with Ken Korb, Bob Westcott and Mike DiGeronimo, on Saturday, May 31, 8:30 p.m., with an open mic at 7:30 p.m. The Last Licks Café is located at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 109 Brown’s Rd, Huntington , New York . Opera Night will be very special this month!

10 artists will be designing costumes for eleven singers

Through this compelling drama about capitalism and Wall Street greed, Larry is forced to decide what he wants more: the money or the woman. The cast features Martha Byrne as Kate Sullivan. Best known as "Lily Walsh Snyder" from the CBS show "As the World Turns,” Martha recently left the role after twenty years having won two Emmys and garnering nine Emmy nominations; Also featured is James DePaiva as William Coles.  Mr. DePaiva is best known for portraying Max Holden for nearly seventeen years on ABC's "One Life to Live. 
 
 
 

DANCE

Posey Dance Repertory Company and The Children’s Dance Company’s spring concerts were wonderful—just ask anyone who was lucky enough to get a ticket before they sold out all three performances! We are searching for a larger theater so we can welcome everyone in the community to the next performance. Please accept our apologies if you were unable to join us this season. You can see two dances from the concert at Opera Night on Friday, May 2. Young dancers in the company will perform “Nomad Girls” and “Ojos Asi” choreography and piano accompaniment by Isabella Eredita-Johnson, accompanied by Matthew Pierce on the violin.  Sunday, May 4th  the dancers will be at the Huntington Arts Council’s Tulip Festival in Hecksher Park helping youngsters create their own dances about spring. Friday, May 9th the dancers have been invited to attend a class with a dancer in the New York City Ballet.
