Evan
Hammer has been an art teacher at Sayville High School for 5 years and
making art seriously for about ten. Being an art
teacher forces him to be versatile enough to cover all the bases and
that of course spills over into his own art. He tries to stay open to
all options and all media. Oil paint would certainly be at the top of
his list, then charcoal, ink, pastel, watercolor, and whatever else he
can find that makes a mark. Evan accepts the anything goes Contemporary
Art definition. He tries to welcome all the potential possibilities and
avenues. “Sometimes it’s fun to make marks without thinking too much and
sometimes it’s fun to really challenge yourself while capturing a
person’s likeness or the color of a setting sun”. Most of his work
ranges from non-representational paintings that were created with an
improvisational jazz spirit to landscapes that can be naturalistic or
expressionistic.

Ms.
Luongo has been in group shows at The Woodstock School of Art, The
Rotunda Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, The Center for the Arts in Dutchess
County, The Hudson Center Galleries, Ward-Nasse Gallery in NYC, The
Germanow Art Gallery in Rochester, NY, Women's Art Gallery in NYC and
the Jeanie Tengelson Gallery on Long Island. One of her pieces is
represented in At home with Art by Estelle Ellis, Caroline Seebohm and
Christopher Simon Sykes, published by Clarkson Potter in 1999. Jean has
also designed and art directed publications including Plastics
Technology, Screw Magazine, RallyingPoint, Crawdaddy, Rock Magazine,
