Hall. Northport resident Bassam Saba, virtuoso and
multi-instrumentalist who’s credits range from Sting to Yo-Yo Ma,
headlines FIAF’s "World Nomads - Lebanon" summer series. The BSE
performs Saba's original music, passionate works deeply rooted in the
traditions of classical Arabic and Lebanese folk. The evening features
Saba on the oud, nay, saz and flute; Ali Amr on qanun, Megan Gould,
William Shaheen and Corinne Stokes on violin; William Martina on cello;
Brian Holtz on doublebass; and April Centrone and Tareq Rantisi on

21, 2010 - The Northport Symphony Orchestra,
under the direction of Richard Hyman, will present a free concert at
8:00 P.M., featuring violinist Joseph D’Esposito, who will play Violin
Concerto No. 2 in E Major, BWV 1042, by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The Orchestra will also perform works by Schubert, Gluck, and
Mozart. The concert will take place at the East
Northport Middle School, 1075 Fifth Avenue, East Northport (east of
Larkfield Road). No tickets are necessary for this

Anton Polyzhayev as soloist in the Lalo Symphony Espangole. The

Coalition will be holding
its second Art walk on Sunday, May 2nd, from 4- 7 pm. Begin the tour at
Copenhagen Bakery or Caffe Portofino to pick up a self guided tour map.
See some of established and emerging artists at many galleries,
studios and eclectic gallery-for-a day venues in Northport's Main Street
area. The Art Walk will be a great way to check out Northport's bustling

25th-27th Plein Air Painting Event: The search for
the region’s most accomplished plein air painters continues this June in
NAC’s 4th Annual Plein Air Painting Event.
Select artists will be invited to paint within the Village of Northport
(along the harbor and Main Street) on June 25th and 26th.
At the end of the second day they will submit one painting for a
silent auction to be held June 27th at LaMantia Gallery. Event will be
held rain or shine. Sunday the 27th will feature an
exhibition and silent auction for the “wet” paintings at LaMantia

Then on June 9th, Charlotte will appear as part of NAC Wednesday's Reader's Theater Special: Three Plays by Mike Casano.
May 13-16th, 2010 Casting Call for New Theater Company on Long Island, Playback Theater L.I.
PlaybackNYC has received a generous grant from the Hagedorn Foundation to train and build a new improvisational theater company for Long Island. They encourage people from all walks of life and levels of experience, not just those with acting experience, to check out the details of auditioning for this new project. Playback uses music, dance, FreeStyle hip hop and improvisational theater to transform the stories of our audience into theater. Playback Theater LI will be holding a free training workshop from May 13-16, 2010 for those selected. Those selected will be working as a team, taking scripts from the audience’s memories, dreams, and social and political conflicts. NAC EVENT June 9th, 2010.The Northport Reader's Theater, under the auspices of the Northport Arts Coalition, will return to the Northport Public Library on Wednesday, June 9th at 7pm for its 3rd annual "NAC Wednesday" presentation. This year, the group presents a staged reading of three plays -- "Who Knew?", "Hidden in the Past", and "The Annie Parker Show" -- written by playwright (and Greenlawn resident) Michael Casano and directed by Jo Ann Katz.
